Stretch & Strengthen – After your morning is organized, treat yourself to stretching and strengthening with yoga poses that will help you find ease in all your other activities. Class is geared to the individual capabilities of the participants.
Intro to Yoga – Classic beginning level class introducing the student to the basic principles of alignment while stretching and strengthening the body. This class focuses on creating stability primarily using the standing poses to stretch the hamstrings, hips, shoulders and spine.
Mixed Level Yoga – As the name suggests, this class is for beginners to more advanced students with individual attention to guide each student to finding the ease in the postures while still receiving the benefits intended in terms of strength, flexibility, balance, focus and calmness.
Vinyasa (Flow) Yoga – Vinyasa yoga is classic postures linked together with the breath. This class will explore classic flows such as the various Sun Salutations and portions of the Ashtanga Primary Series as well as some lesser known flows such as the Moon Salutation and its variations. Actual class content will be geared to the individual capabilities of the participants but will generally be more vigorous than the other classes offered at the studio.
Gentle/Chair – This class is for beginners and those with physical challenges. Class uses chairs and standing modifications of yoga with no floor work. Students work at their own level to increase their body awareness, muscle strength, flexibility and balance while creating more mobility, ease of movement and reducing stress. Emphasis is on proper breathing with each session providing a complete stretching workout and includes a relaxation exercise at the end.
